Hemingway's small screen appearances have garnered respectable attention. Besides several well received TV-movies (as an unwed mother in her debut "I Want to Keep My Baby" 1977, and as an Israeli-trained fighter pilot in "Steel the Sky" 1988) and a miniseries ("Amerika" 1987), she played sexy divorce lawyer Sydney Guilford, a regular role on the intelligent courtroom drama series "Civil Wars" (1991-93). In 1995, she returned to series TV, headlining the CBS sudser "Central Park West" as naive magazine editor Stephanie Wells, coping with her writer-husband's ambitions and a less-than-supportive staff. Dissatisfied with the development of the character, Hemingway opted to leave the series after the first thirteen episodes.
