Imagine Blaire Waldorf of Gossip Girl with super hero powers -- that’s pretty scary considering her villainous ways already -- well, you may not have to stretch the imagination too far with GG creator and writer Josh Schwartz at the helm of the next X-Men installment, reports Variety.
Josh Schwartz is also the man behind such TV hits as The O.C. and Chuck.
Marvel Comics and Fox plan to recreate the same successes they’ve seen with the X-Men movie series by going back to the beginning and casting a younger version of mutants.
It’s highly doubtful the mutant superheroes will be living on 5th avenue in Manhattan but it’s an interesting concept picturing them written with the abrasive charm and teen angst as seen on the CW’s popular show.
Elisabeth Rappe at Cinematical writes, “While I know this has the potential to be teen fluff, I'm actually pretty excited by this. The X-Men will always be my favorite superhero team, and I'll take a new class if it means seeing them on the screen again.”
Fox is keeping quiet on plans and declined to confirm details of the project. The studio has been considering different ways to continue the series of X-Men movies after the third installment, the Brett Ratner-helmed "X-Men: The Last Stand," collected $459 million in 2006, reports Variety.
There’s hints that Fox will bring back the younger X-Men wannabes already seen in the movie series as students at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning; Iceman, Rogue, Angel, Colossus, Jubilee and Shadowcat.
